Dee-con 2014

Hello every cutie!
Last Saturday was the day of the Event of Dee-con. Scotland's largest Free comic convention. I went to the event last year. It was my 1st ever convention. And because its near by I decided to get myself along to the event.

Since last year I have connected more with other like minded convention goers so I was very lucky to share my Train journey with a sweet Lolita .

My outfit was Black shorts in a dungaree style , bunny knee high style tights with a Heart Blouse and blue blazer and red cat ear hat with Red matching High tops. Thankfully it was not a rainy day for the event just a few showers here and there.

The Event did not Start till Noon and was located at DUSA Union. Which was a mere 5-10min walk away from the Rail Station. The Event covered 5 floors. From Artist Alleys, Retro Gaming, Card Gaming and merch-stalls. It is way to easy to spend to much money at these conventions. How ever I was very good and only spend a little amount of money.

When we arrived we were stopped by a local Photographer who wanted to take our photos. I was only wearing a simple but bright outfit and was rather shocked to be asked. I agreed to have my photo taken as did my Lolita friend. Both together and on our own.

As we got near to the main building which housed the event, the queue was intense. It must have double back on its self a few times. We must have been in the queue for 10 mins waiting and then a further 10 mins getting in to the place.

It was packed,As soon as you walked in. I explored all the levels and checked out the stalls, The Artist Alley is the bit I like a lot and I picked up a few pieces from the same artist as last year.  The Lay out was a bit more flowing than last years apart from the lowest level, for some reason its so packed up.
I found myself standing for 5 mins trying to move,I have no idea why this happens even last year it was packed and you felt stuck and unable to move. I retreated to a higher level of seating area to get some photo's.

Outside was the best place for photos. Am sure a lot of cosplayer's took this as a advantage to get some photos take of their outfits.I really should have hung about outside to meet more people and snap some shots.

I noticed there was much more going on this year than to last year's. There was a great atmosphere too. I spotted many Lolita's from the local community, each one was dressed so well. I noticed and recognized some cosplay.

Overall it was a good day out, its a great convention for any 1st time convention goers. I do regret not getting more photos and footage, but there is many more conventions to come. I did not stay till the end but there was also a after party for later in the evening.

During the day there was some  Anime films being shown that you could go in and watch. There was lots of Arcade Games to play, Table top Games were set up  and even some retro ones. A area of Games development and even talks such as '' Being proud of your inner Geek.'' Also there was a Kendo Performance Display and a Cosplay Masquerade and competition . So You could easily stayed on till the early hours of Sunday with the after party!

After my attendance of Dee-con I went into Dundee city itself, I spied some other con-goers walking through the city shopping malls still dressed up. They got many strange looks from on lookers.

Dee-con is a good sized convention, its nice to have a convention near by. I would say its a great convention to attend for your 1st time and then a great way to meet up with others who have the same interests. Its a nice way to ease you into the cosplay and convention world. Once you get the bug for it, that's you hooked. I was waved down or called over to say Hello or for a chat by many kawaii readers and folks I know of via facebook and on my blog. I was so shocked by this and quite overwhelmed. Every one I met was lovely. I look forward to next years and for my upcoming events. I hope to see some of you again and meet new faces of Kawaii! So watch this space!

Lazy days of January

Ah! It's January. I feel January can feel dull and lifeless , I think that everything is still slowly awaking from its winter sleep. I do much prefer spring time, maybe with all the baby animals and cute flowers popping up everywhere- its so cute! I guess this weather of late is not helping much.

So I plunged a bit on spending some money already but have saved a few pennies aside for my plans of getting a new camera.( It don't make sense but yea..)I hope that I can save up for before April as that when one of the first conventions is on which I would like to attend with my Camera.
I'd like to look into wildlife and toy photography which is easy to find with all my kawaii stuff I have but also lots of nice walks near me and local attractions I can easily venture too. But I think the other things I shall be looking at will be cosplayer's and Lolitas. I adore J- Fashion's so I will be hunting out some folks who are heavily into it .As well everything and anything, that is Kawaii to I shall want to  photograph.

Am hoping to be able to take better blog photo's over all as my plan is to attend classes and a near by school too. It would be nice to use my new found interest in my blog, right?!

So I have been a bit lazy with my laptop and working space. I've been sitting it on my lap and lazying about in the sitting room...so have ordered a few things to make my desk more Kawaii for me being at. ( I normally work on my laptop, at the dinning room table, then tidy it away for meals.)
So I was surfing a few Asian websites and found this cute idea!

Its a Desk Mat, am getting a cute pink one and will have my laptop set up with it. ( and no doubt lot's of Kawaii items too!)

It has a clear sheet of plastic on the top of the mat,to keep things neat and tidy or  lift it up and place paper or notes with information that will then be at hand if you need it. Its also got some small pockets to store cute bits and bobs. Ideally I would love to have my cute stationary and notebooks set out. I find being surrounded by my cute things, they easily inspire me.

I've also found a simple project note book on ebay as my other one that I decorated is almost at a near end with only a few pages left. And is a plain covered one so I can also decorate this one too! This one has more sections, I find these things so handy more so with the sections to keep it all in order.
Am so addicted to stationary and stickers huhuh.

So it must be a January thing I feel like after the hype of Christmas and holidays that there is not much to share but I do have a few reviews coming up and I really need to do a video at some point to since there has been a fair amount of peaple who have subscribed to my youtube.  Thank you all for that!

So till I have something more interesting to say...
Here is a cute photo of some mini Plush cats I got in the post the other day!

Cute huh?!

DIY New Year Kawaii Post!

Happy New Year its 2014!
My 1st post of the year- Yay.

Are you all ready to take on the new year!? Have you set your new years resolutions? This year I have made more goals and dreams to reach and aim for! I thought I would share a DIY New Year Kawaii  idea with you all today!
This year I felt it was a good idea to get a 2014 Diary - I don't really use them as I have Calendar's in the House. When I went looking for one in the shops after Christmas the were all on sale but only the dull and non-cute looking ones were left over and neglected.
However I did find a nice sized one with a Camera on the front of it. Perfect I thought. It's cheep, simple and the Camera would remind me to reach for my new dreams. Am hoping to take a Photography class and take more photos at the conventions and events that I will be attending in 2014. Hence the need of a diary

Here is a picture of what it looked like! A bit boring for my kawaii life style! LOL.
So.. I got some of my new Stickers out and gave it a bit of a make over...

I went for a Cat and Bear theme on the cover. It looks much more fun and interesting do you not think?!

Kawaii!!
I added a few gems on to the cover too , I can not wait to fill this in with important dates, goals and dreams to reach for this year. I even have little stickers that act as page book marks to add to this for friends Birthdays and other important entries.

Will you be taking my idea and giving your new 2014 diary a Kawaii make over?!
