Hey there Kawaii crew.
Hope you are all good, so todays rambling post is about me trying a lace front wig for the very first time. I have been wearing wigs for 6 years now and I love my wigs and everything about them. Don't get me wrong though I have had a few horrors along the way and some very bad choices when I have picked out some wigs. I mainly use risky ebay ( it is always a risk when it comes to ebay .) Cutesy Kink is a other store that is great for wigs and fast shipping.
Any how Lace front wigs. I took months humming and cooing over which one to get in the end I settled with a ebay seller I have used many times in the past . I picked a blue black ombre to pink wig .It was a long length one and curly in style. Now the lace front wig is a wig with - well you guessed it a lace / mesh front. Which you cut off up to the hair line, making it a more natural looking wig over all. It also frames the face nicely and some have multi hair parting options ( mine did not its a middle parting but I have managed to shift it a little off centre.) I don't actually have a hair parting as my hair has a mind of its own and does its own thing ,which in turn makes my hairdresser cringe when I walk in.
I got mine and fell in love with the colour! So pretty!
I really like the dark roots as it blends better with my natural hair for the hair line. However the wig was like a 24 inches and I took my battered scissors to it and hacked off about 4 inches . I love long wigs but I wanted to make this something I should work with every day kawaii and not need to worry about tangles as such. Cutting it was not to bad when I did it and I also gave it a quick wash to remove any lose hair strands . I left it to dry naturally and it kept all its curls and shape. The main difference in a lace front and a normal wig is the lace bit you have to cut off. Cutting the lace part was easy enough though I made sure to take my time as the wig was just under £35 with free shipping. I really don't want to mess it up and have to send it wig heaven just like that.
Sooo my experience with my wig wearing it first time was on christmas day, I have popped it on a few times for selfies- cause I had nothing better to do with my time lol. I found that I really enjoyed wearing the wig the main thing was there was no tight tension around the hair line which can give me a head ache with cosplay or fashion normal wigs . I wore it comfortable for about 12 hours and didnt need to adjust it at all. I also didn't use any lace tape or glue which I do have but I want to get a longer wear out of the wig and might use some of that at a later date but the clips held it pretty much in place the whole day! The other time I wore my wig was a few days in Disney Paris. Again I wore it pretty much all day but then I had not so much fun time as my face broke out and around my hair like making the lace front itchy along the hair line and upsetting my skin even more. However the wig did stay on even with going on thunder mountain and stayed pretty much in place. I did get annoyed with my wigs parting but I think in general I was kinda annoyed as my skin was playing up.
Over all I do like this wig , I adore the colours in it. It has been a learning curve as I never used on or had one and I know now to pick shorter lengths and side parting styles over the middle parting ones. I also would say that I will for sure like to try other wigs and brands as well as get my hands on a few other colours and styles.
